Okay, so I am not a Sean Avery fan by any means. As a Caps fan, I remember his days as a Ranger all too well. That being said, I am a fan of free speech. What Avery said, was stupid and sounds like something a moronic frat boy would say. However, the NHL has no authority to step in and quiet him. For once I am actually agree with Avery on this one.

You agree with Avery or you disagree with Bettman? I think its ridiculous that Avery was suspended for it and thought the comment was pretty funny (or as you would say, "something a moronic fratboy would say") but still pretty rude (and something you should say in public...or at least not in an interview).
Still: a suspension for it?
I think the NHL went too far in suspending Avery. What he said was stupid and similar to a comment I would have made when I was 20, but by no means does it warrant a suspension.
