JaVale McGee Sets a World Record

As a Washington Wizards fan, I know there was not a lot to cheer about this past season.  Once again the Wizards were a bad team on the court, and victories were hard to come by this season.  However, one bit of promise the Wizards showed this year was in some of their young talent.  Everyone knows how good John Wall is (he is the real rookie of the year) but there are a few other talented players on the Washington roster.  One player of note is JaVele McGee who showcased his talents to the entire league during the NBA Slam Dunk Contest.

While McGee's efforts were valiant, he was not able to overcome Blake Griffen (this guy is going to be a Wizards killer for a while). He was able to etch his name into the Guinness Book of World Records thanks to his dunking efforts.

"The most basketballs dunked in a single jump was three by JaVale McGee (USA) during the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest at the 2011 NBA All-Star Game at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, USA, on 19 February 2011. McGee jumped with two basketballs in his possession before dunking each and receiving a third basketball to dunk via alley-oop from teammate John Wall (USA)." [...]
JaVale has since tweeted a pic of his certificate, which we suppose makes it official. At least it looks official, what with the foil stamp and all. [...]
Granted the new record does little for the Washington Wizards, but maybe McGee can use it as a bargaining chip when he goes back for contract negotiations.
