NFL Coaching Rumors
There have been more coaching changes this NFL season than any other year in history, and the moves are continuing as we prepare for the playoffs. It has been confirmed earlier today that the Cleveland Browns have fired head coach Eric Mangini after suffering their second consecutive 5-11 season.
The rumors surrounding Mangini and his job security have been swirling since he arrived in Cleveland and only intensified when Mike Holmgren was hired as the the teams GM and head of football operations. Now of course Holmgren is the obvious choice to take over for Eric Managini but we will have to wait to see if that takes place.
"This decision was not easy for me, and it was one into which I put a great deal of thought," Holmgren said. "Although we have made improvements this season, my responsibility is to ensure that we establish a program that will allow this team to compete at a championship level. That will continue to be our goal in everything we do."
