According to several sources, and Walker Sports can confirm TCU has accepted a bid to enter the Big East Conference, effective in the 2012-13 season. The move will allow the Horned Frogs to play in a conference that receives an automatic bid into the BCS, which is a luxury TCU is not currently afforded in the Mountain West Conference.
TCU is currently third in the BCS standings and will most likely qualify to play in their second consecutive BCS game this January. It could be argued that the prestige of playing in a major conference could give TCU the added boost they need to be considered a major football power. One thing is for sure the addition of TCU in the Big East automatically increases the profile of the conference. Currently Connecticut is leading the Big East with a 7-4 record.
