Washington Redskins Fire Jim Zorn

In a move that shocked absolutely no one the Washington Redskins have fired their head coach Jim Zorn. many thought Zorn would be fired early this week, and they were correct. The Washington Redskins fired Coach Zorn at 3:30 this morning upon arriving home from their road lost in San Diego. An official announcement is expected from the team later today.

Jim Zorn has suffered an embarrassing season in Washington DC. One that saw him stripped of his play calling duties, and the Redskins interviewing and flirting with other coaches while he was still there. Zorn still had another year left on his contract which the Redskins will have to honor.

"The status quo is not acceptable," general manager Bruce Allen said in a statement released by the team. "I felt it was necessary to not waste a moment of time to begin building this team into a winner." -Redskins VP of Football, Bruce Allen

At the top of the Redskins wish list is former Denver Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan who has been rumored to be at Redskins Park as recently as last week.

We will provide more details as they become available.
