Eye Gauging is Not Part of Rugby

The international summer test season is coming to an end in rugby union this weekend. Sure, you still have Tri-Nations, but for the rest of the countries in the world they are wrapping up their tours abroad. Of course the most popular tour all summer was the British and Irish Lions traveling for a trip to South Africa.

The two teams have been embattled in a furious three game test series that saw the South African Springboks take a 2-0 lead. With the final game of the series taking place on July 4th there is not a lot to play for in the record books, the Boks won the series, but there is a lot of pride left on the line. Fueling the fight for pride will be the hard hitting, and sometimes illegal actions from last Saturday's test.

The Boks wasted no time taking things to a personal level last weekend. Check out this gruesome play on Saturday afternoon. For those of you who do not know, this sort of action is never condoned in rugby.
